Spring time!

We've been sick. Beth is not a fan of sharing details, so I will tell you that it was a variety of diseases and plagues varied over a 4 week time span...and leave it at that.

But all that is forgotten, for spring is here! We gots us some puddle boots (I joined Ben in the puddles with my fly fishing hip waders), and we had us some puddles, and when you put the two together...you got yourself some quality little boy entertainment.

We had a hectic week where Beth studied general medicine (which she hasn't studied or used in over 3 years) so that she could take a test on it. In French. (and yes, I said week and not weeks). But now Beth is off her busy-to-the-point-of-ridiculousness rotation and is on a somewhat more forgiving rotation. Of course, that's somewhat negated by the fact that as her boards approach in July, she tends to study more and more. But don't worry, only 2 (?) more years of boards, and then it's only every ten years! (I've decided to start depicting sarcasm with colored letters, for those who are sarcastically impaired...in this case, the 10 years is accurate, the excitement depicted by the exclamation point is not. And I just wanted the exclamation point colored, but I can't get the other text to the default color now...so it's all messed up, sorry)

Ben and I went to the zoo today. We've been going all winter more or less, but today is an exceptionally nice day, so we took our time. However, Ben is not interested in animals; he just wants to push the stroller. Oh, he's interested when we talk about the zoo, and when we leave for the zoo, and when we get to the zoo...just not when we walk around the zoo. We get to the monkey house...but he runs through it, yelling about lions. We get to the tiger (the lion wasn't out). Ben stares for a second, then pushes his stroller out. A rolling stone gathers no moss I guess. Camels. Ostrich. Goats. What else ya got. Let's leave our stroller here and go see some turtles! No!! Want to see the seals? NO!!! Ok, I'll pick you up, see? Look at his whiskers! Down please. *exasperated sigh*

Even pushing the stroller seemed to wear thin near the end of our circumlocution. But riding in the stroller was apparently no better.

It's not fun to hear about the dreaded terrible twos, but I'm afraid we've hit it head on...and I believe we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg at this point. So in order to counter the next few years of humorously frustrating stories of Ben refusing to cooperate, I will be juxtaposing my words with pictures of happy smiley Ben. Hooray!

Shucks...I was hoping to see Dad in his hip waders. But Ben in his red boots is adorable. Fun times! Really :)
