which is significant, because up until we had him, each year of my life really only felt like a half or a quarter of a year. I was getting older, but I judged myself by how physically I competed with younger men, and until Ben was born, I was still 26 or so. I am now, without a doubt, 32. (Ok, some doubt, just now I had to ask Beth to make sure, I actually thought I may be 33...)
Ben had a good birthday I'd say...several in fact. Beth, unfortunately, could not make it home from work until 6 or so on his actual birthday (12 hour day, par for the course lately, we're hoping for better when she becomes an attending in July...), so she postponed it until Saturday. A reasonable adjustment to the laws of time.
Wednesday, Beth and Cayden (his aunt and cousin) came up to join us for swimming at the Holiday Inn. Ben loved it. He might very well be swimming by the end of the summer. After his nap, we went to my mom's and again joined Cayden, Beth and Nana for Easter Egg coloring. Again, Ben loved it.
Beth (Ben's mom, my wife) was able to make it for some present opening, after which we went home and fed him and got him ready for Bed.Ben's second Birthday was an impromptu gathering on Saturday with both sets of grandparents, his uncle Jake and Jake's wife Masami (sp?) and Bridget. There he got some more presents, ours and the Duffy's, and a cake with candle's. He was all excited about blowing out the candles the previous days, but with the combination of all the people there and having just woken up from a nap, he had me blow them out instead.

Easter we went to church, went to Grandmo's (or Mamo and Ben says) for lunch (where ben found his easter basket), napped, and then went to Nana's for dinner (where he found easter eggs in the backyard, refused dinner and discovered M & M's).
My mom took a ton of great pictures of Ben swimming, but obviously I can only put so many up. And the songs Ben sings in the video are Little Red Caboose, If You Want to Be a Badger, and Zippity Do Da.

Ohhh, those are definitely the cutest renditions of "Little Red Caboose," "If you want to be a Badger" and "Zippity Doo Dah" that I've heard for a long, long time, maybe 30 years or so. (Ben's mama was a darned good singer, too.)
Ben is JUST THE MOST ADORABLE 2 YEAR OLD I KNOW!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY BEN-----LOVE FROM GREAT GRANDMA AND AUNTIE MOUSE
