Final Thoughts

Four months can be a long time.

Paris is a big city, which I am not a fan of, but it does have some beautiful scenery.

I like that the buildings are old and full of character; that every corner could be a worthwhile picture.

I like that there are trampolines in the park and interesting risky playgrounds.

I like the wine. A lot.

I like the cafe's and all the outdoor seating.

I like the intricate architecture in all the churches and old cities.

I like the metro system. Not having to use a car is remarkably nice.

I like the ocean cities and the Christmas markets.

I like no screens on the windows. There don't seem to be nearly as many curious flying insects as in Wisconsin.

I'll keep the negatives away, I believe they've been covered.

Once again, we're very grateful that Beth has worked so hard in order to put us in a position where God can send us on such an interesting research project. And I hope I was able to give you a little idea firsthand of the things we saw and shed a little light on how other parts of the world work.

Thanks to all of you who read the blog and special thanks to everyone who contributed! All the comments helped keep my quality of blogging high because I knew people were reading!

We leave tomorrow with United at 12:50 pm for a non-stop flight to O'hare and arrive at 3:30 pm (or something, I forget). Don't let the times fool you...it's a 9 plus hour flight.

I may still update from time to time and will most likely start up somewhat regularly around mid-july when we have the baby, so feel free to stop back if you're interested!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

One final big thank-you to you Josh, for keeping us so humorously up-to-date. As one of the many people missing all of you guys so much, it was a sanity-saver. Have a safe trip back to Wisconsin!

Have a safe trip back. Just think, all the snow that has brought Europe to a screeching halt will pale in comparison to the amount we already have here, just waiting for you. We'll have to take Ben and Joseph sledding together. See you when you get home.

What nice positive feedback on Paris. You made the time practically fly by with your blog. Every day about 3-4 times I would check you blog for any updates. I would urge you to keep it up when you get back...maybe once a week?? I love the way you see life. Your mama
