Cheesy Elocution

Before I start, all the pictures are from about 4 weeks ago I think...when Holly and Steve came back to WI.

I was going to write about last night, but I'm saving that for the next post, then I can match the pictures up with it.

But now, I'm not sure what to write here. If there are no words, then the pictures just stack up, kinda ugly-like. How bout food and talking?

Ben still has three teeth....all on the bottom, 3 in a row.

He's eating well with his hands, but we still have to give him his veggies via spoon...which is cumbersome because he doesn't always like being spoon fed, like some sort of baby. He'd rather just dig in with his fingers, like a man!

We've just added strawberries to his diet, so now his three favorite foods are cheese, which he says all the time (cheeshhhhh with a slightly spitty slur), grapes (kgr...the k is transparent, but not silent), and berries, but I don't think he has a word for berries yet.

He also uses some verbal sign language. For instance, he uses the vibrating of the lips, like "brrrr" but with a little more lip flapping, to indicate cold. He also uses this nasal sound very similar to "woo woo", like a train, to essentially say "woo woo"...like a train, which, not coincidentally, he uses when playing with the train. He also makes some animal sounds in mimicry to our animal sounds, but they are all rather nasally and made with his mouth closed.

His cousin Cayden is a talker at 2, so I'll be impressed if Ben can do the same by then. It'll just be interesting to see him morph into a more communicative being over the next year. It's already starting, which is kinda cool, but he's got a long way to go this summer!
