Hot!

Park Day, Hurray! We took a nice scenic walk through the swamp (it really is scenic, they have a boarded walkway through the middle of it) to get over to the extremely nice condo park.

Knowing Ben, somewhat, I brought his big truck and his helicopter in case he got bored with the park and the stroller. I did not have a back up plan for when he got bored of the truck and helicopter...

It was still great fun being in the sun. Which of course meant we put sunscreen on. Which of course meant 20 min of intense baby wrestling. Slippery baby wrestling.

All the other kids at the park had on long pants and most of them had long sleeve shirts or sweatshirts as well. It's 70 people!!! C'mon! The kids seemed ok with it, and Ben seemed fine in his T-shirt and shorts...and sandals for the first time. Of course we've recently discovered that Ben prefers sleeping in light sleepware with a very cool temp in the house. He's a lil heater, like his dad!

We stayed at the park for a while, splitting our time between climbing and descending stairs and pushing the stroller. He was cranky a lot of the time, but that was because I forgot to bring water (rookie mistake) and it was getting past milk time by the time we even arrived at the park.

For the most part he was happy exploring and challenging his upward/downward mobility, but the one thing that really seems to tick him off is the little plastic barrier betweem the woodchips and the grass. He'll tromp all over, but when he wants to cross either into the woodchips or onto the grass he'll stop, look up at me, reach his hand up for my hand and whine. I've been just giving him my hand as he steps over, but today I just stepped over, sqatted down, held my arms out and said, "C'mon, you can do it!" He usually gave me a look of scorn as he over-dramatically stepped over the barrier, but he never had a problem doing it.

Overall it was a lot of fun and, if Beth can break from studying at all, maybe we'll head back to the zoo this weekend!

If you ever get too bored by your house, you could come downtown and visit me! :) We could throw bread to the ducks at the Union!
