There are more pictures of us scattered throughout the 10 pages, but these are the main ones of Ben playing in the water with his cousin Cayden.
I started writing this post at about 5am. Why? Well, that's when Ben woke up of course (actually 4:30). Dunno why though. No one was happy about it. We gave him some milk, and Beth rocked him a bit, but he was wide awake. By the time Beth got done, it was time for her to get ready for work (5am, had to study and prepare for clinic).
Aside from that, we had a great time with Labor Day weekend.
I got to play volleyball twice this weekend, a rarity. We got some tasty food from The Original Pancake House on Saturday (which, due to cheapness and tastiness, a combo not often found in life, we seem to be going every weekend). We got to go to the zoo...and see a lion puke. We got to go to church, where Ben actually was doing ok in sunday school after a bit, but we got paged by accident, so he ended up getting out halfway through. We got to see Jordan and Jen for a bit. We got to visit Amy, Phil, Ella and Matthew Downs (They're the ones in the pictures). Then we got to go to the Dells and have dinner with Robert and Erin at Ginza. Lots of "got to's". Always a good thing.
I'll take a sec to talk about the visit with Amy and Phil because that's what the pictures are of. They live in Beaver Dam and have a nice little house with a great backyard and lots of toys (including an air filled jumpy castle thing!). Beth was able to hold little Matthew, and Ben thoroughly enjoyed the plethora of toddler cars, toy cars and other toys filling the yard. He was also a bit interested in part of the lawn and kept looking down and pawing his feet up and down. Not surprising considering that that part of the lawn is a little odd. An evergreen had been ripped up from there, and because evergreens poison the ground around them (Phil tells me), only certain kinds of grass can be planted where they were. So the grass they had there (not by their choice, they moved into it and didn't know the story) was this thick, soft, cushiony grass. Amazing for walking on, but from what I understand, absolute hell to try to cut.
But now I'm yawning as I type. And Ben is rolling in his crib and kicking the wall, probably not quite awake, but certainly not a deep sleep. Thank goodness the Duffy's are gonna grab him this afternoon, I need the sleep! er...I mean, the time to do household chores!
PS - Windows 7 is really ticking me off as far as these posts go. I can't put the pictures where I want them. BAH!
