Ah yes, two in the morning. I remember two in the morning from college. Things have changed since then, but a few things remain the same: It's dark out and I'd rather be sleeping.
Ben's on his way to becoming an excellent college student...he's not a big fan of sleep and he drinks all night.
I'd put pictures up, but I can't find my camera in the dark. I'm not completely sure of what else to say either. This sucks. A lot.
The past 4 or 5 days the kid's been eating every 2 hours. All. Night. Long. That means he gets up at say midnight, eats for about 30 mins, then looks at me for 30 to 60 mins while I tell him it's time to go back to sleep, sleeps for maybe 30 mins then gets up and repeats the cycle. It's lovely. We're beginning to think he's growing nostalgic for being 4 days old.
There's hope he's breaking out of it (knock on wood). Last night he had a 5 hour stretch, 7:30pm to 12:30pm, and tonight the same thing. The problem is, he isn't going back to sleep after these stretches. Ask my brother, he'll tell you. Why? Because he's in Switzerland, and so when he gets a message at 9am saying I've logged onto my computer, he knows that it's 2am WI time. And when he asks, "What in the world are you doing up?" I give a one word reply, "Ben."
On the up side, I'm getting quite good at Call of Duty 4 and Warcraft III (after bouncing him on the exercise ball for 30 mins, I give up and put him in the swing while I jump on the computer. He complains less and tends to fall asleep while I'm playing. And the headphones help me...), so I could probably join a professional Swiss gaming crew. If this keeps up, I might just look into it.

Hang in there, Josh. It will get better. That middle-of-the-night feeling of being the only adult awake in the world will not last forever. That's why babies are designed to be so darn cute .........
I ditto "grand-mo". I conclude that Ben loves you SO much that he wants to be with you morning and night. Good job dad. :)
