Bath and a Walk (Ben is 5 days old)

Friday was a little more exciting for us. Ben had been sleeping more (3 1/2 hours at one time Thursday night!), and so we were actually able to leave him in one spot for a bit while we did some things around the house. It's amazing how big people like us can so easily get pinned down by 7lbs.
We started day 4 off with a bath for Ben. It started out well because he was sleepy. He took his scalp brushing quite well and only fussed a little when we tilted his head back to wash between his fat folds. By the time we got to his legs though, he was awake and crying, well, like a baby.
Day 5 was a beautiful day here in Wisconsin (sunny and in the...mid 50s?), so after work, we strapped Ben into his stroller (I forgot to say thank you to everyone who helped us out with gifts, we got almost everything we needed and then some from you all!), and took a short walk around the nice neighborhood behind us. It was quite bumpy. Ben didn't seem to notice, but we thought we'd try to find a nice smooth bike path for our next walk.
Benjamin slept through the entire walk (a pity, he missed out on some exquisite flora) and then for another hour or so when we got home.
That evening we ran into our first real out of control baby. He may have wanted to eat, but Beth was in the bath and by the time she was out, the little guy was on a roll. His diaper had been changed, he'd been burped and he was the right temp. We were sure it was food he needed, but he was so worked up, I don't even think he remembered what he really wanted.
After about 30 to 45 min we finally got him calmed and fed. But it was a spectacular cryfest up to that point.
This morning he's been ok so far, but we are still looking forward to the day that we can get him to sleep and then move him away from Beth so that we can get some things done while he sleeps.
Ah well, some day. For now, we'll just enjoy how tiny and cute he is. Even when he's crying.
